SHOES
DESCRIPTION
This is a school project made using several software and tools. The task consisted of making a short animation using two of the subjects discussed in class. I went for photogrammetry and camera tracking, as they seemed to work together best.

I started by scanning in a pair of my own shoes using ReCap Photo. I took about 40 pictures of each shoe using my phone, making sure they were placed on a colorful and patterned surface. That helped the software create a 3D model out of the pictures I had taken.

Using SynthEyes I tracked three out of the four shots in the final animation. I had a few problems with the trackers but everything worked out in the end.

I imported the animated camera from SynthEyes into Maya, where I also imported and animated the shoes themselves.

Overall this was a very interesting project for me, as I got to work with new and exciting tools. The animation came out better than I expected, considering the whole short took 4 days to make from start to finish.
